Aegean Airlines just recently joined the Star Alliance, and they have the lowest Star Alliance Gold level qualification tier, at a measly 20,000 status miles to qualify. As a Star Alliance Gold member you get access to all Star Alliance Gold lounges whenever traveling, even on a domestic ticket. A lot of Continental, United, and US Airways elite...
I posted yesterday about Aegean Airlines joining the Star Alliance and having the lowest qualification tier for Star Alliance Gold status. Something I overlooked as a frequent flyer, however, is their Star Alliance Silver status. It can be earned for only 4,000 status miles per year (and 3,000 the first year, since they offer 1,000 status miles just...

It’s finally official . Now all those honeymoons to Greece on miles don’t have to terminate in Athens with separate paid tickets to Crete and Santorini. In addition to flying to the islands, they service major cities of Western Europe as well as Tel Aviv, Cairo, and Istanbul. Aegean is expected to merge with Greek carrier Olympic in the...

As reported by Musings of the Global Traveller , bmi’s Diamond Club program will be merging into Lufthansa Miles & More by mid-2011 at the latest. For those of you not familiar with bmi, they’re a great airline to credit miles to, even if you never fly them. They offer double miles (both redeemable and elite qualifying) for most...

I woke up this morning to some disturbing news. The All Nippon Airways website award search page is the killer app for searching out Star Alliance awards . The site displays award inventory for all Star Alliance members, and is easy to use (more or less). Sometime overnight (here in the US, presumably sometime in the morning over in Japan!) the website...

Loyalty Traveler outlines the new Starwood “Rewarding Returns” bonus offer running through the end of the year.
