Indian team briefs the country on f...The Indian Parliamentary team appraises their country of facilities at Welfare Villages. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi highly appreciates it. A 10-member Tamil Nadu Parliamentary delegation including Kanimoli, the daughter of the Chief Minister after a visit to Sri Lanka had handed over a dossier to the Chief Minister on their tour. On arrival at the airport they were received by the Chief Minister. Members of the Indian delegation were able to see to themselves the real situation in Sri Lanka. They visited the North and East and also the Welfare Villages where the liberated civilians are being sheltered. The team was able to disprove that the Indian reports related to the Welfare Villages were untrue. They witnessed the accelerated de-mining programme. Mr. Karunanidhi said India should further support the de-mining process. He thanked the Sri Lankan Government for the support extended to the delegation to make their tour a success. He also expressed his gratitude to the Sri Lanka Government for meeting all their requirements. Mr. Karunanidhi appreciated President Rajapaksas positive response to the issues confronted by the Indian fishermen.
